Santiago has five years of experience in the field of psychology and has had the privilege of learning from talented teachers in San Diego county. Since graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University and becoming an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, he has grown his passion for working with individuals who are ready to learn to love themselves with great strength.
With the help of Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, his hope is to guide individuals to greater heights of self-compassion to experience true change. Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy is designed to help one explore the landscape of the mind and heart with precision and powerful self-acceptance. He considers it an honor to help individuals that desire to work to alleviate persistent shame and self-hate.
Santiago has provided therapy to children, youth and families of low-socioeconomic and culturally-diverse backgrounds with a broad spectrum of diagnoses. He works to help people know themselves and understand their capacity to live with passion, authenticity, confidence, and to give of their unique gifts by looking inward. Supervised by a licensed psychologist, he works with children, adults, couples, and families. His areas of expertise include issues of gender and sexuality, religion and spirituality, multiculturalism, transitional age youth, and short-term dynamic psychotherapy.
On his days off, Santiago loves to be in the ocean surfing or keeping his eye on the horizon to see a whale passing him by. When he isn’t on his surfboard, he is usually writing music, dancing flamenco, or brainstorming his next creative project. His drive to live an art-filled life aids him in generating intuition and BOLD creativity.
